The Oberoi, Lombok

When the wind blows in the wrong direction the weekend discos on gili islands can be heard by light sleepers like me in the sea view facing rooms.

Given the big Vila has high ceiling and they are traditional structure, the AC was not sufficient to cool the place, though they rushed with a fan that ended up sufficing.

The service is incredible. The rooms are great. The grounds are amazing. The spa is fantastic.We would have lunch at thr bar area and they made us amazing smoothies and great conversations.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Oberi, enjoying its serene pristine beachfront setting, spacious and impeccably clean accommodations, exceptional food, and outstanding service from the attentive, friendly, and professional staff who paid meticulous attention to every detail.

The property was well maintained with the villas and pavilions (terraced rooms) spread out over lots of green landscape and coconut trees. It is a stone’s throw from the Gili islands where one can spend the day snorkeling and basking on white sandy beaches.

Other than being about 2 hours from the international airport, there was nothing else about the property that I didn’t like.

Having now stayed at three 5 star resorts on Lombok, I can unequivocally say, that the Oberoi was the best of the three.The resort grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained. The resort setting is lovely, right at the beach with Gili Air right in front and Bali’s Mt. Agung towering in the distance. Loungers overlooking the sea are pristine, wrapped in fresh towels, and supplied with cold water, cold towel, and sunscreen. Absolute heaven. Shoutout to Gede who took great of me.My room, while not one of the larger villas, was beautiful and thoughtfully appointed. There wasn’t a single thing I needed that wasn’t supplied. It was spotlessly clean and serviced 2x day. Fruit replenished daily and chocolates on arrival.The staff are meticulously groomed and appropriately uniformed. While some might think this stuffy, I think it encourages professionalism. This is in contrast to the other resorts in which staff were dressed more casual, and frankly, sometimes in clothing that was actually dirty.I was ill during my stay and the Oberoi employees were the kindest most caring hotel staff I have ever encountered. I was eating very simple meals (bananas, rice, toast, etc.), frequently in my room. Not only did the hotel provide these to my room, they offered them complimentary! Who does that? I’ll tell you who, the Oberoi does!They arranged a doctor to see me on a few hours notice. The charges were fair & reasonable.I can only offer my kudos to the General Manager, Mr. Tanmay Vaidya, for a job well done, and a big thank you to all the staff at the Oberoi Beach Resort Lombok who made my stay very memorable.

Excellent staff. Beautiful location. Good value for money

There cannot be a destination more luxurious than the Oberoi in Lombok. We were celebrating a family trip and this resort made our celebration the highlight of our trip. Right from the manager to the staff, everyone goes above and beyond to ensure that guests are taken care of. From their breakfasts to sun downers, the architecture of the hotel to the amenities, everything is unparalleled. The Spa, gym, tennis, water activities at their own pier, everything was exceptional. The rooms and beds, the small additions like fruits in the room or a sweet treat during turn-down service, are all a part of their exemplary service. The grounds are immaculate and their all-you-can-drink fresh coconut is just an example of how these small gestures matter to guests who travel from various parts of the world to Lombok. Definitely one of those places we will keep repeating very often!

Great location and excellent service. Staff are so attentive and friendly. The resort offers plenty of activities for the guests and it is located in the area where the water is so pristine. We had a wonderful experience. My only feedback is on the food menu as they are a little limited.

We loved everything about this hotel! The property is spectacular. So peaceful. The room was gorgeous. The staff were super friendly, professional and attentive. The food was delicious with variety. The snorkelling adventure was magical. We also had a private tour of the island with a guide from the hotel which was so interesting. We highly recommend staying at the Oberoi Beach Resort. We will definitely go again.

We were initially unhappy with our room. The management didn't seem interested in listening to us initially although they eventually changed our room.

Sensational. Food was amazing also for vegetarians. And all the friendly people at The Oberoi were just perfect. Thanks so much for your prefessional kindness. The Oberoi Lombok is a fabulous hotel. The views, the food, the service, the rooms and overall ambience everything was just PERFECT! The staff is very friendly, always serving with a smile and went out of their way to make it a memorable stay for us. Right from pre-arrival queries & special requests to checkout, the experience was amazing. The food is great, particularly the Indian & Indonesian food. We took a half day tour of Gili islands with snorkeling, good experience. This hotel is a great choice if you're looking for a relaxed, peaceful and then luxurious holiday.

Bed height is high need a stool

Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive! The food was excellent and we had to make use of room service regularly due to travelling with a baby - they were amazing at setting up dinner on our balcony. Rooms were spacious, and the bathrooms are huge. Good gym facility.

It is quite far from the airport - 1.5 hours or more on some windy rooms.

Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean beach, very tidy, tranquil and greenery resort, room always got tidy up when returning. For our anniversary, there was surprise everyday during our stay. Really appreciate their kindness and hospitality. We will come back.

We arrived with high expectations, and Oberoi exceeded them in every way. They catered to every little request with perfection. At first, we thought we might get bored, but in the end, the team went above and beyond to make our stay the highlight of our trip through Indonesia.Having traveled to 80 countries and stayed in hundreds of hotels, I can confidently say this is one of the best. And the food—absolutely heavenly! I already miss the breakfasts with those breathtaking views, not to mention the incredible dinners.Worth every cent. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Staff were amazing. My dietary need was remembered by everyone after it was mentioned on day one. Food was excellent, great service. Resort itself was immaculate. Even the beach was raked and picked over to keep it looking pristine. Cabanas are nice and the loungers on the grass by the ocean lovely. Cocktails are great.

The hotel has a great pool and a lovely beach. The breakfast was good, but the coffee was the worst I had on our holiday. The bathroom was amazing, although there was a very small pound in the bathroom with two big fish in it, which was sad to see. The spa was lovely and they have a very good although small gym. Lots of activities.

The room did not represent the pictures they put up on booking.com. The room was very dark due to lack of light and also the wooden detail.It was very hard (and painful) to get in and out of the bed because of the bed frame. There is definitely lack of privacy from staff in this hotel. I understand that they tried to show that they are there to satisfy your every wish, however, it felt very intrusive and felt overbearing. The issue with this was that when we actually needed assistance, there was no provided. For instance, they never came to clean up after room service despite us asking for someone to come and pick up the dishes. At breakfast they were clearly struggling as they would forget our orders. I had to constantly ask staff to bring the menu, the food and one time I had to ask for coffee 3x before they brought it out. This is just one example of many.There was lack of privacy in the hotel unless you stayed in your room or on the beach because the staff constantly invades your space asking if you need anything. We arrived very tired on the 31st of December and I understand that there was a NYE party for the hotel guests, however, it was impossible to do anything (forget about sleeping) as a result of the very loud music in the whole resort.

We spent eleven nights at this lovely place and really enjoyed it. Beautifully furnished room, luxurious privat pool, pleasant gazebo, all exceptionally tastefully built in complete privacy. Shaded by trees. Perfectly landscaped surroundings. I especially have to highlight the thorough keeping of the house twice a day.Complimentary horseback riding for children; tea at five o'clock ( once with a bottomless bottle of sparkling wine :o); regular replenishment of fruit and sweets in the room; bike rental, these are all little things that bring joy.

The food in the restaurant (we had half board) was good, sometimes very good. What was a real problem was the time spent waiting for dinner. Every action, every order took an inordinate amount of time. Each evening, killed by waiting for food. Once we tragically waited more than two hours for a main course, which was unacceptable, especially for our small children. Unfortunately, we had to leave the restaurant before dessert due to the late hour.Live music in restaurant, sometimes decent, sometimes out of tune and noisy, did not really contribute to the romantic atmosphere. I would prefer silence, or soft local music, to variety shows.
